The 30th Anniversary Quilt Alliance BOM - Month 7 Designed by Bonnie K. Hunter
From the Quilt Alliance, "This month's block is made using three block units — a Pinwheel, four Chevron units, and four Corner units. The instructions guide you through making each of those units in that order." Click through to take a look at the Month 7 "Birthday" Block and how you can join in on the fun! Why is it a "Birthday" Block? You'll just have to read on and find out for yourself!
What is the 30th Anniversary Quilt Alliance Block Of the Month?:
"From April to December 2023 we’ll be sharing one block a month with Quilt Alliance members and donors. Each of these designers has participated in a Quilt Alliance oral history project, so we’ll be sharing quilt stories and nine great blocks to celebrate our 30th year!"
More Info about Month 7 from Bonnie K. Hunter and the Quilt Alliance:
"Why Birthday Girl? Because it's my birthday month as I submit this. Hello 61! I love playing with an array of scraps in various styles and genres, just placing them by color to add some cohesion to the chaos. In my own world, all of the neutrals, purples, reds, oranges would be as scrappy as possible, but the unity within each color family shows the many faces of our lives that come together, making things more interesting than if we had used one fabric for each color alone. We are not the same person every single day. There are many sides to who we are. My scraps tell the story of my life — each piece a spot on the timeline over the past 40 years I've called myself a quilter."
