Flying Beauty is a paper pieced quilt that features a combination of two classic blocks, the Flying Geese and the New York Beauty. But in order to create the smaller circles of Flying Geese, David added an extra bit of negative space to his curve around the combined block. By doing this, when he put four of his blocks together for the quilt, an extra circle of flying geese was born.
