Today in Transform Your Quilting, we learn about using crayons in a whole new way and how to create a hanging sleeve for your quilt.

From Show 2009, Meg Hawkey demonstrates How to Use Crayons to Achieve a Vintage Look (technique) - Click on Chapter 2. Learn how to tint and shade your quilts and soon, you'll be stealing your kids crayons...

Learn The "Value" of Your Fabric with Blair Stocker
Different Values Can Influences Creative Choices

Blair Stocker is a pro at color value, and in this week's show she shares examples of fabrics and how they interact with each other, and how subtle differences can be detected using a Ruby Ruler. In the same segment, Blair also demonstrates how different fabrics affect each other by shuffling dark and light valued fabric squares to create areas that glow and sparkle or emphasize a strong contrast.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Slice of Australian History
"Marjory's Quilt" by Lessa Siegele

Lessa wanted to share some of the history of Australia with the people down under, so she made Marjory's Quilt, which is a re-do of an early Australian quilt that belonged to a friend of hers that had been passed down. Lessa estimates that the original quilt that this one was based on is from the middle 1800s.
