Tulips by Chinami Terai won Third Place - Hand Crafted / Hand Made (Sponsored by Andover) at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Chinami's beautifully handmade quilt, with hand piecing, hand appliqué, hand embellishment, hand embroidery, and hand quilting, brought us so much joy when we saw it, and that's exactly the sentiment she wanted everyone to have when they saw it. She says, “Flowers, especially tulips, bring happiness to people in spring, so I’ll give you a tulip bouquet with hope for your happy days.”

The last time Lee Chappell Monroe visited The Quilt Show she taught us all about how to make a color wheel quilt, perfect piecing, and how to craft heirloom looks by machine. When she returns this Sunday she has plenty of new tips, tricks, and projects to share with you. What will they be? We'll give you a hint. The Quilt Show Puzzle: Shifting Focus to Shirting

"Made You Look" by Lorraine Woodruff-Long

Made You Look is made from seven of Lorraine's husband's shirts. It is part of a series of quilts she is making that is comprised of seven quilts made using seven shirts to show what you can do with men's shirting. It also contains a sliver of one of her son's shirts when he was little. This is the red rectangle, and stitched atop it is the title of the quilt.
