Featured Quilt - Second Place Hand Crafted / Hand Made at Houston 2024

Heartwarming Days by Aki Sakai won Second Place - Hand Crafted / Hand Made (Sponsored by Andover) at Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. This stunning hand made quilt features intricate and whimsical detail wherever you look, including teeny-tiny Sun Bonnet Sues traversing the outer border. How many of them can you find? Aki says of her work, “The design was based on my family memories, our quilt group (Honey Bee), and my favorite things. It took one year and four months to make this.”

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Perfect Primary Color Quilt

"Yellow" by Lynn Koolish

Doodled on her iPad in an art program first, Yellow (34" x 33") was a quilt that Lynn Koolish knew where she wanted to end up but didn't know how to get there. Knowing she had a great quilt, she had to work backwards from her drawing to figure out the piecing of the quilt.

Love Lynn's work? Want to see how she dyes her fabrics using ice? See how she does it by watching her in Ice Dyeing with Lynn Koolish, Lattice Blocks with Sujata Shah, Block Prints with Mel Beach, Fabric Books with Pati Fried.

A very attractive and interesting event that will definitely attract many participants. Geometry Dash Scratch is also very eagerly waiting for this quilt exhibition event to take place.
