Featured Quilt - First Place Small Wall Quilts: Fiber Art/Mixed Media at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2025
Midnight Magic by Joanne Baeth won First Place - Small Wall Quilts: Fiber Art/Mixed Media (sponsored by PFAFF) at AQS QuiltWeek – Paducah 2025 . Depicting eight boats as they are docked for the evening, the real magic is in how Joanne's mastery of a vast array of quilting techniques, including thread painting, inking, fabric painting, and more, brought these ordinary boats to life with just a wave, and a stitch or two or ten, of her hands. |

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Cool as "Ice" Flower Quilt |
"Poppies on Ice" by Grace Errea
The inspiration for Poppies on Ice was the image of one large Himalayan Poppy that Grace saw featured in a calendar. What intrigued her more than just the flower itself was the color of the flower, of which she had never seen anything like before. She put together ten, twenty, however many flowers she had, and organized them on the quilt. Each of the flowers features beautiful beading which was unusual for Grace to use as she isn't much of a hand person, but she wanted to try and capture and show off the beautiful gold-orange centers of the flowers that were so prevalent in the original photograph.
See more of Grace's quilts in How to Use Color and Value in Your Quilt and How to Do Applique with Grace Errea.
