Featured Quilt - People’s Choice at QuiltCon 2025

Jordan Year (Quilt of Golden Delights) by Laura Hartrich won not only one award at QuiltCon 2025, but TWO awards. It took home Third Place - Hand Work (Sponsored by DuckaDilly) and the show voted People’s Choice (Sponsored by Ruby Star Society). We can see why people voted for this quilt as their favorite, as it is not only a testament to the work that Laura put into it, but also has a lovely and heartwarming backstory to go along with it as it celebrates all the delightful things that Laura experienced in a whole year.

She says, "A strip for every day of 2023, hand-embroidered with something delightful I experienced or noticed that day. Inspired by Ross Gay's wonderful essays, this quilt provides a record of the delights instead of the low points in a year where there were low points a-plenty. Let the heartbreaks fade. I survived them all. Let the delights stay vivid in my mind, sharp as the needle that stitched them into this quilt for hours upon hours."

Be sure to check out the detail photos in the gallery to see some of the hand quilted experiences that Laura put into her beautiful quilt.

This quilting style looks so vintage. It connects nature with this art Penalty Shooters
