Featured Quilt - First Place Wall Quilts 1st Entry in an AQS Quilt Contest at AQS QuiltWeek Branson 2025

Tales of Cloth by Andrea Ashwell won First Place: Wall Quilts – 1st Entry in an AQS Quilt Contest at AQS QuiltWeek - Branson 2025. Using a
Boehm House Vintage pattern by Rhonda Dort as its design source, "Andrea collected vintage linens from the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany at antique malls, charity shops, and from family members for this quilt. She wanted to display the beautiful pieces in a way that would give them a new lease on life. Andrea reclaimed parts of tablecloths, place mats, pillow cases, her mother's crochet handkerchiefs along with repurposed stash and vintage quilting fabrics for the quilt, then designed and hand appliquéd the border."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Tale Told Through Quilting

"The Jesters Tales" by Jaimie Davis

The Jesters Tales is Jaimie's favorite appliqué quilt. She sat down to draw one day, which happen to be her birthday, and began to create this quilt. Normally having worry and angst about needing to rework things when she is designing, the idea for this quilt came to her fully-formed. Inspired and intrigued by the four block quilts of the nineteenth-century, The Jesters Tales pays homage to that style, but it takes its name from the idea that the flowers coming out of the vases look like jester hats. Because of this, Jaimie ran with the idea and created a story about four different jesters and inked that story in the borders of the quilt.
