A "Fireworks" Quilt for the Fourth of July, Announcing The 2026 Cherrywood Challenge, Barbara Black's Tips for "Laurel Ridge" Month 7, Dee LIVE: Make a Wrap and Reuse Gift Bag, In The Store - Old Glory Fat Quarter Bundle from Robert Kaufman Fabrics, A Puzzle on the Horizon

Featured Quilt - "Fireworks" for the Fourth of July

Fireworks is a quilt that Cindy Grisdela made that allowed her to explore free-hand curves, blasts of color, and features lots of dense free-motion quilting. She says, "Fireworks is a celebration of color and line, enhanced by dense stitching in a variety of motifs. The arcs and colors reminded me of sky lit up on the Fourth of July. All of my stitching is done freehand on the sewing machine, without a computer or other marking." Plus, all the thread colors match the fabric that they are quilted into.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Looking Out on the Horizon

"Endless Horizons" by Karla Overland

Endless Horizons was one of the first designs Karla made where she realized how much she loves waves. Waves calm her, and she wanted a simple quilt that took advantage of the color gradations. Karla says, "Swirls are inspired by the Bass Clef of the musical scale. This forgiving technique uses the beautiful gradations of Cherrywood to its advantage creating a simple, but effective modern quilt."
