Featured Quilt - Happy New Year!

Welcome to a brand new year with The Quilt Show! We're so happy you're here and we can't wait to share what we have in store for you. But first why don't we start the year off with a quilt that's associated with one of our favorite people, Sue Garman, and ties into a TQS yearly tradition, our Block Of the Month.

Our first featured quilt of the year was made using one of Sue's exclusive TQS Block Of the Month designs, Halo Medallion, and was made with its own "tiny" twist. Hallelujah by Betty Chouinard, Quilted by Flo Verge, was featured in the In the American Tradition Exhibit (Sponsored by AllBrands.com) at the  Houston International Quilt Festival 2024. Betty says, "Halo Medallion was the last pattern Sue Garman created for The Quilt Show block-of-the-month. As much as the original size is wonderful, a miniature version is even more wonderful. I used only fabric from my stash. The extraordinary custom quilting is by Flo Verge of Newport, Vermont."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Play With Your Color Palette

"Color Play" by Victoria Findlay Wolfe

Creating Color Play was a bit of a challenge for Victoria, as she was trying to use all solids. But, there actually is not all solids in there and you'll have to look closely to see where she dropped in for non-solid fabrics. Making the quilt was just her playing around, working with the color palette, and focusing on light and dark contrasts to see what she could do with them. It is a double wedding ring quilt, however, Victoria did not piece the small melons you would find in a traditional double wedding ring.
