Featured Quilt - Third Place Pieced at Houston 2025
No Direction Home by Randa Mulford won Third Place - Pieced (Sponsored by AccuQuilt) at Houston International Quilt Festival 2025. Using patterns inspired by the work of Maria Shell, and traditional Seminole patterns, as her design source, Randa utilized a combination of machine piecing, machine quilting, and ruler work to bring her work to life.
She says, "No Direction Home is four small improv-pieced quilts based on the same original design and sewn from the same palette of colors. The four panels can be rearranged to create very different compositions—unfortunately, I can only show one of them here. Thanks to Maria Shell for encouraging me to go big!" |

It’s That Time of Year When Inboxes are Overflowing Like Holiday Cookie Plates!
To help make your season a little calmer, we’re dialing back our emails for the holidays. Beginning Sunday, December 14, you’ll receive our weekly newsletters on Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. Fewer emails means more time for celebrating, relaxing, and (we hope!) stitching something wonderful with us here at The Quilt Show.
Wishing you joy, peace, and plenty of quilting fun! |

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Wonderful "Water Lilies" |

"Water Lilies" by Lynn Koolish
Created using TAP, or Transfer Artist Paper, Lynn Koolish's Water Lilies (14" x16") is actually three images in one. TAP is an iron-on transfer that allowed Lynn to take three different images and make one singular image, providing a matte look that printing right onto fabric wouldn't provide her. The finished result is an image that looks like it was made with water colors rather than just a couple of pictures.
