Carol Johnson's "Smithsonian" Ribbon Quilt

Carol Johnson has won hundreds and hundreds of ribbons over the past 43 years. She then took 609 of those ribbons and stitched them together into a quilt, which won her yet another blue ribbon in 2023.

That quilt now has a spot in the Smithsonian Museum’s Renwick Gallery.

Watch the video below to learn all about Carol's quilt. A photo of the quilt is featured below the video.

What an amazing quilt! How very creative! It reminds me of the cigar ribbon quilts I've seen. What an incredible honor for this quilter to be represented at the Renwick Gallery! It's one of my favorite museums to visit in Washington DC, followed...

What an amazing quilt! How very creative! It reminds me of the cigar ribbon quilts I've seen. What an incredible honor for this quilter to be represented at the Renwick Gallery! It's one of my favorite museums to visit in Washington DC, followed by the DAR Museum. The Renwick Gallery features items made by artisans all across the US who make top-of-the-line hand crafted items. Yvonne Porcella is just one of the quilters that has a quilt in the archives of the Renwick. I would encourage anyone going to Washington DC to put the Renwick Gallery on their "must see" list. Congratulations Carol!
