We return to the home of Alex Anderson and TQS is visted by not one, not two, but three fabulous guests! Jennifer Sampou, a fabric designer for more than twenty years, discusses how she uses modern technology to create digitized ombre fabric. Using her SKY ombre fabric line, she demonstrates a simple Sawtooth Star Block pillow and easy-to-make Modern Madras Table Runner. Then, Julie Silber and Joe Cunningham bring their considerable knowledge of vintage and antique quilts into play as they discuss how to look at an older quilt for inspiration in creating a Modern quilt.
Alex talks with Jennifer Sampou about being a fabric designer for over twenty years, how she designs fabric digitally, and takes a look at Jennifer's SKY fabric collection along with some of her other quilts.
From Chapter Two:
Jennifer demonstrates a simple Sawtooth Star block which can be easily made into a large pillow.
From Chapter Three:
Jennifer walks through the steps of how to make a Modern Madras Table Runner, a runner that is reversible and uses three of her Ombre colors to make. She also discusses color placement with Alex.
From Chapter Four:
Learn how Julie Silber and Joe Cunningham met, as they bring their considerable knowledge of vintage and antique quilts into play and discuss how to look at an older quilt for inspiration in creating a Modern quilt.
Jennifer talks with Alex about her Art Barn, a garage she converted into an extension of her studio that she uses for her mail order business, doing videos, and teaching classes. They also discuss Jennifer’s two years of living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Collage quilter Emily Taylor presents demos on parchment painting and color theory in collage quilting. Then, Susanne Jones gives The Quilt Show a tour of the THEIRstory exhibit at Houston 2019. This exhibit is a combination of her three previous exhibits, Fly Me to the Moon, HERstory, and OURstory.

Tara Faughnan joins Alex to discuss her ideas about color theory and value in quilts. They talk about how some colors “sing”, others don’t, and how value can change the energy level of a quilt. She also supplies information about her “Color Collective”. Then, Tara demonstrates her style of free-form hand quilting that she does without a hoop. She considers hand quilting an embellishment. She also shows Alex her stitching chart that she created to keep track of which type of needle works the best with different types of thread.
We end the show with a visit to Diana McClun’s house and studio. Diana is a quilting pioneer and author along with Laura Nownes of Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!!, now in its 3rd edition.

In her second visit to The Quilt Show, Carol Morrissey gives Ricky a fascinating demo on her latest technique which she calls "Exaggerated Pointillism".
Then, Lyric Kinard and Susan Brubaker Knapp give us a tour of the exhibit they co-curated for Houston 2019 entitled A Better World, which focuses on what people have done with their actions to make the world a better place.

Lynn Koolish takes the fear out of Fabric Dyeing and Shibori as she demonstrates both techniques to Alex. It’s Dyeing 101 as she shows you all the tools you need to get started, including the types of dye and items you can find around the house to use, including rubber bands, ropes, and PVC pipe. Lynn also talks about how the Japanese style of flower arranging, known as Ikebana, has influenced her quilting.
Then Pokey Bolton arrives in her Airstream Trailer, Maybel, to talk about her varied career with Quilting Arts and Craft Napa. Pokey teaches Alex how to do sun printing (cyanotype printing) and how easy it is to use the Applipops circle templates for appliqué.

An entire show dedicated to all things Lizzy Albright and the Attic Window, including the new novel by Ricky Tims and Kat Bowser and the quilt based on the book. Ricky and Kat will demonstrate how to make a Bear Paw block and an eight-inch Nine Patch. Plus, a look at an exhibit by Joe and Mary Koval, who have been buying and selling antique quilts for forty-seven years.

Coming to you from the homes of Alex Anderson and Freddy Moran, it's The Quilt Show from home. Both of the guests for this show, Sujata Shah and Freddy Moran, have been inspired by color all of their lives. Sujata Shah was inspired by the colors of India when she began making free-form quilt blocks and Kawandi, a scrap quilt, as it would be made by the Siddi. Sujata demonstrates how to make these quilts using scraps of clothing and recycled fabrics and very few tools. She also walks through the process of creating free-from quilt blocks that have a handmade look and Modern feel.
Then, Alex surprises Freddy Moran with a cake for her 90th Birthday at Freddy's wonderful home. TQS then takes a look at Freddy’s house, which boasts 37 different colors and innumerable quilts and they walk through her fabulous garden at the top of a hill.

In TQS' second Appliqué Masterclass, Rosa Rojas and Sue Garman share tips and tricks on prepping your appliqué, making perfect circles and making stems with bias bars. Sue Nickels teaches her method of designing an appliqué border based on an antique quilt from the 1800s.
Then Liuxin Newman will astound you with her needleturn method of making super tiny dots, micro lines, and her ‘Chinese weaver stitch’ which results in very sharp points.
