Trailer

The Quilt Show welcomes Lisa Walton as she shares her love of hand dyed fabric and surface design. As the first non-American SAQA president, she discusses SAQA and what it’s about, its founder Yvonne Porcella, and the vast scale of exhibits across the globe that they present. Next, Lisa shares a fast and fun fusible quilt design that is also a fantastic stash buster, using fine weave fabrics. Lisa then shares a technique, inspired by Bargello quilts, for creating a cityscape using staggered strips of fabric sewn to a PFD hand-painted sky. She also talks about her textile tours for quilters that include hands-on workshops.

Gayle Schliemann then stops by to talk about Cosplay, how it includes fans of costumes, comic book characters that gather at conventions around the world, and the work that goes into making a costume. She discusses how her sewing skills and BERNINA capabilities allow her to do unexpected and unique details on her costumes.

I can't take the out of sync subtitles. I watched a future show and they are gone. Thank you! It was like watching old Godzilla movies. I enjoyed both guests, but as soon as Ricky starts speaking, especially Gayle, he's cut off. It's fun so see how different techniques can be incorporated into quilting. :-)

I love the show being on quilts, no Cosplay costuming

I loved both Lisa's and Gayle's segments. It's very interesting to see what you can do with a Bernina.

Loved Lisa Walton's portion of the show. Also skipped Gayle's portion, not interested in Cosplay costumes. Would also prefer the focus be on quilting.

Thank you for Lisa's show. I understood what she was explaining even if things didn't go quite as planned. I loved her finished work and think attending a class with her would be awesome. Skipped Gayle's portion of the show.

Enjoyed seeing Lisa Walton's portion of the show very much. I do have a comment about Gayle Schliemann's portion. I'm not fond of the shift away from quilting with these repeat Cosplay costumes. Gayle is very personable, and a very talented artist, but I would prefer the focus of the shows remain on quilting.
