Trailer

Alex and Ricky welcome contemporary quilter Timna Tarr to the show, where she talks about her new series of quilts devoted to maps. Timna starts the show by sharing a fast and fun way to use your state as a graphic and a contemporary quilt. She then shares a fun technique for creating a contemporary flower quilt using a mosaic technique that includes finished edge machine appliqué.

Afterwards, quilt historian Mary Fons, daughter of Marianne Fons, shares the interesting history on quilts and quilt making in the United States. From quilting in the 50s to the revival in the 70s, Mary discusses how quilters found their voice as quilting continued to evolve. She then discusses the Modern movement and how it has emerged as a strong and vital progression of quilting today.

How do I access the Timna show#2501?

I just signed up to TQS, and like Glarson, I only have access to the trailer for Timna 's show 2501. What's up with that?

I’m new to TQS. I receive Timna’s newsletter, and she said her show was free to watch until 7/14. But all I seem to have access to is the trailer. Do I have to become a paying member to view the shows?
Thank you!

I really enjoyed the entire show. Timna’s portion was very exciting as I had never seen quilted maps. I am a hand embroiderer and love recreating historic needlework samplers. Historic maps were also created with needlework. Some were flat, like Timna’s, and others were 3D in the shape of a globe.

Timna was amazing! She came to my guild to lecture a while back and she'll be doing a 1 day workshop on the 16th. Unfortunately, I'll be on vacation so I'll have to catch her another time.
Mary Fons is always a hoot! She is so smart and eloquent.
Thanks for another great show.
