Our 2024 Block Of the Month quilt “Pick a Petal” was created by internationally recognized Australian designer Jen Kingwell. This vibrant 72 inch square quilt embodies the colorful and eclectic spirit of spring, and its scrappy vintage style, intricate patterns and playful designs reflect Jen's unique and instantly recognizable style.

Our kit, inspired by Jen's lively quilt, includes 100 different fabrics from 9 distinctive brands includes quilting cotton from Moda, FreeSpirit, Art Gallery and Windham Fabrics, and Liberty of London’s Tana Lawn. The fabrics you receive, while reflective of Jen’s original quilt, will not be exactly the same.

Also included in the kit is our Backyard Blooms thread set from Wonderfil. This colorful thread set is intended for embroidery and big-stitch quilting and includes ten beautiful shades of Wonderfil's Spagetti 12 wt. Long Staple Double-Gassed & Mercerized Egyptian Cotton that were specially selected to coordinate with the kit fabrics.   

Pick a Petal is a learning project that will have you brushing up on old skills and learning some new ones. Each month's instructions will include a supporting live presentations by expert quilter Barbara Black. Quilts made from The Quilt Show's past Block of the Month patterns have won more than 300 awards at shows around the world- this one is sure to be a prizewinner too!


You will receive in your Fabric Kit:
100 different high-quality cotton quilting fabrics for your quilt top from Andover Fabrics, Art Gallery Fabrics, FreeSpirit Fabrics, Liberty of London, Moda Fabrics, Paint Brush Studio, RJR, Robert Kaufman Fabrics, and Windham Fabric for a total of 12.625 yards of fabric.

An exclusive set of 10, 109 yard Spools of Spagetti by Wonderfil in colors specially selected to coordinate with your Pick a Petal Quilt. 

A printed pattern is not included in this kit. The Pick a Petal pattern will be made available to Star Members of TheQuiltShow.com in 12 monthly segments, starting on January 1, 2024. The BOM Pattern is available as a PDF download only.

Sandpaper Board
Neutral 50wt thread for hand piecing
Variety of 80wt thread for appliqué
Variety of 12wt thread for embroidery and hand quilting
Marking pencil e.g. Sewline
¼” ruler or Jen Kingwell Designs seam wheel
3/8” Bias tape maker for appliqué stems

Finished quilt measures approximately 72 inches square.

going to try it and use my stash. 100 different fabrics is not going to be a problem from my stash. I will machine sew this pattern since I can't had sew due to hand issues. love all of Jen's patterns. I have made a few and now working on...
