"The Missing U" by Cheryl Arkison is a scrappy and colorful quilt that can be used in a variety of situations.

Description:
The Missing U comes from Cheryl's first book all about using your scraps. Each one of the blocks in the quilt is known as a slab because you're sewing fabric together to create each unit. This quilt design was used by Cheryl after the big flood in Calgary in 2013 to support the city and the surrounding areas affected. In the aftermath, people wanted to know what they could do to help. Cheryl told them to send one slab each. She expected to receive around 200 but ended up getting 2300 slabs from all over the world. Using those slabs, and the aid of a number of volunteers, Cheryl created hundreds of quilts based on The Missing U pattern to help support the cause.
