Description:
With Temperance, Mary wanted to challenge herself to see how including non-traditional vintage fabrics in a quilt would work. So Temperance incorporates a needle-point pillow top that had never been finished. The needle-point itself dates back to the 1940s and 1950s and it is paired with blocks from the 1880s. It is surrounded by a poison green colored fabric used for the border, which is cut into the shape of "T's" for temperance. Vicki Maloney did the quilting on it, and she said she had to add some extra batting underneath the center starts to even out the thickness of the different fabrics.
