Description:
Nine-Patch Jambalaya began when a bee that Diane was in exchanged small nine-patches for a year. Diane amassed 225 nine-patches of all kinds of fabrics, such as batiks, 30s, Christmas, and so on, but she wasn't sure how she was going to make them work together. Having seen the idea of the disappearing nine-patch, Diane started to cut up her newly acquired collection vertically and horizontally and then sewed them back together randomly. As a result of the small nature of the blocks, the quilt began to come together better than Diane would have thought.
Artist Statement: "I received over 200 nine-patch blocks in a group exchange. I cut them up and sewed them back together and this quilt is the result."
