Description:
Kalaloch Tree Of Life by Terri Shinn won Second Place - Small Wall Quilts: 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Quilt Contest (Sponsored by The Appliqué Society) at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah 2024. Using a photograph of the Tree of Life, located on the Kalaloch Campground in Forks, Washington, as her inspiration, Terri lovingly recreated her quilt from the ground up (get it) with beautiful hand appliqué and hand embroidery. As the roots of the real Tree of Life grow with no soil around them, so too do the roots of Terri's quilt, but hers grows through the rich nutrients of thread and fabric.
Quilting Method: Stationary Machine
Quilting Technique: Appliqué (Hand), Collage, Crayons, Dyeing (Hand), Embroidery (Hand), Quilting (Free-Motion)
