Description:
Sue Spargo celebrated childhood memories of Africa with her quilt, Folk-Tails. It must have been a wonderful childhood as the quilt is filled with interesting animals and beautiful flowers, embellished and embroidered in Sue's enchanting way.
Artist Statement: "Childhood memories of Africa continually fill my mind. For years I have wanted to make a quilt filled with these memories. It was important to me that this piece encompassed each and every memory, and that once finished, it was a vast canvas that told my story without a single word needing to be expressed. Consumed with this need, in October 2014 I sat down with pen and paper and sketched, Folk-tails, a piece of my soul."
Techniques: Hand-Pieced, Appliquéd, Embroidered, and Embellished, Machine Quilted
