Description:
The Hawks Aloft Organization does research on wild populations of birds, helps to educate the population on the subject, and does conservation work. Gail writes of Festival of the Cranes #24, "I have long had a passion for group quilts and began designing and coordinating group quilts since the mid 1980s. Every year, I design a new raffle quilt for Hawks Aloft that 12 of us gather in a retreat setting to stitch the quilt top, usually in one day. It’s my little Sweat Shop with mountains of fun and friendship."
