Description:
The subject of Karla's quilt, Dave, is her brother-in-law Dave who lives in Seattle. Dave is a retired architect who worked on many of the buildings in downtown Seattle. At the time, Dave was redoing a daylight studio shop that featured many concrete calls, of which he was a fan of their contemporary aesthetic. But Karla felt that he needed something to brighten those walls up, so she took a picture of him, added an Andy Warhol style to it, and Dave the quilt was born.
