Description:
Darkest Before Dawn, by Ellyn Zinsmeister and the members of the Quilts Unscripted Bee quilted by Elizabeth Ray, was awarded 2nd Place Group or Bee Quilts at QuiltCon 2023.
Ellyn writes, "All of us have struggled in recent times. Between a global pandemic, political unrest, racial and sexual discrimination and so much more, it is difficult to see the bright side of life. This quilt represents the dark days we are living in, and the hope that I have for brighter days in the future. Improv log cabin blogs were made by the talented members of the Quilts Unscripted Bee using a color palette chosen by me. Each block contains some of Kona 2023 Color of the Year, Cosmos."
