Description:
A Splendid Display is named after what its central figure, the peacock, does so well, giving off a splendid display. Cindy loves both peacocks and peacock fabrics, so when she saw a line of fabric that featured them and similar colors she just started collecting it. Cindy likes making quilts where you start in the center, like a medallion quilt, and just start adding borders outward. She did this with this quilt, but instead of a medallion used a peacock and left lots of space around her borders for quilting.
Like many of Cindy's quilts, A Splendid Display has won its fair share of awards, and it's not hard to see why. Here are just some that it has won:
- AQS Phoenix 2014: Honorable Mention, Traditional Large
- MQX East 2014: 2nd Place, Solo Artist
- Quilt Odyssey: Best Machine Quilting (Home Sewing Machine)
- AQS Chattanooga 2014: Best Traditional Quilt
