Description:
Artist Statement: "Robert Herrick wrote the lines "Gather ye rosebuds" in the mid 1600s; 300 years later Janis Joplin was singing "Get in while you can." It's the same sweet song. My original inspiration for this quilt was the fabric with skeletons and roses. The appliquéd roses were adapted from a quilting design by Margaret Docherty in her book "Birds and Roses.""
