Description:
This quilt was a challenge from my small quilt group Artique. We were given some Hoffman precut fabrics and challenged to make a quilt inspired by a national park. My inspiration was a photograph of Notchtop Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park taken by friend Betty Neale. The precuts were used in the ice and water sections and on some of the mountainside. I also used some of my hand dyed fabric for the sky and some hand dyed organza (from Melody Randol). The technique is raw edge applique with machine stitching.
