Description:
I ordered the kit from The Quilt Show store for a challenge while in Covid19 quarantine. I completed 41 of the 42 different traditional blocks, substituting a log house for Pickle Dish. I had to learn many traditional blocks and how to do English paper piecing
I found it difficult to keep points sharp on the flying geese border (with a 9-patch center) so I used scraps to make a piano keys border instead. I was pleased with my colorful substituted border.
I quilted it on my domestic machine using the embroidery module and multi-directional decorative stitching on my BERNINA 790+.
To make the experience complete, I shared the young people's novel, Lizzy Albright and the Attic Window, with my 10-year-old granddaughter.
