The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Whizz Bang!" by Rachaeldaisy
Do a puzzle of Rachaeldaisy's quilt, Whizz Bang!.
Whizz Bang! was Rachaeldaisy's exploration into the world of folded fabric blocks and quilts. It incorporates folded fabric techniques such as the pinecone, somerset star, Amish star, and more throughout its many blocks. Rachaeldaisy began by making just a potholder, but since her brain thinks in quilts it evolved beyond that into a big quilting project. Initially, the quilt was going to be nine folded fabric blocks, but, having too much fun, that became sixteen, and then finally twenty-five big circular blocks surrounded by many smaller ones around the edge. Rachaeldaisy entered the quilt into the Sydney Quilt Show, finishing it the night before it had to be dropped off, and it went on to win Best In Show that year.
