The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Vintage Tin" by Meg Hawkey
Do a puzzle of Meg Hawkey's quilt, Vintage Tin.
Vintage Tin was inspired by an idea that Meg's son had. He told her that she needed to design a quilt for men, and his suggestion was to do something that included motorcycles. Not being the motorcycle type, and wanting to have an interest in the images she draws for her quilts, Meg thought she would include antique motorcycles, old cars, and automobile related ephemera like oil cans and license plates. With her husband having shown street rods in the past, Meg also knew these were pictures she could include of some street rods being sold and on display as part of the central images of the quilt.
