The Quilt Show Puzzle: "The Sage" by Phyllis Cullen
Do a puzzle of Phyllis Cullen's quilt, The Sage.
The title of Phyllis' quilt, The Sage, is actually a pun on two things. When she was with a group of artists in Kyrgyzstan she took a picture of a man who would be considered the village advisor. That image would be the basis for this quilt. Then when her 20Perspectives group, an international group of quilt artists that Phyllis is a part of, had a challenge to do a monochrome quilt, Phyllis was assigned green. So the title of the quilt represents both "the sage" who is the subject of the quilt, and the color "sage" green that she used for the monochromatic challenge.
