The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Shadow Liberty" by Sarah Bond
Do a puzzle of Sarah Bond's quilt, Shadow Liberty.
Shadow Liberty began as a color exercise for Sarah, who wanted to see which color combinations she liked best. Once she found that she liked the grayscale options, she decided to transform half of her color blocks into grayscale. It's name sake is from the New York Beauty block, also known as Lady Liberty, and the Shadow portion is a social commentary on the fact that the liberty experienced by some people in America is not the same as the liberty experienced by others, it's just a shadow.
