The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Ribbon Quilt" by Sarah Bond
Do a puzzle of Sarah Bond's quilt, Ribbon Quilt.
Ribbon Quilt is the initial result of Sarah's classes with Nancy Crow. Featuring all solids, Sarah says she made it in a fugue state, unable to stop working on it. Piecing the quilt inside of two months while she was working full time, Sarah submitted it to QuiltCon one year and it was rejected. The following year, knowing the quilt was good, she submitted it again and it won the eQuilter Quilting Excellence Award.
Artist Statement: "The Ribbon Quilt is a color study and a challenge to myself. Like most quilters, I tend to gravitate towards the same color groups over and over again. My challenge here was to use every color in the fabric line at the same time. Despite the amount of piecing involved, I pieced this quilt top in about six weeks. Sometimes you make the quilt. Sometimes the quilt makes you."
