The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Pheasant" by Blair Stocker
Do a puzzle of Blair Stocker's quilt, Pheasant.
Pheasant was created by Blair as a way to show her students in her upcycling classes that it was okay to include a cut-up piece of cross stitch or needlework. Blair bought the needlework part of this quilt at a thrift store, and while she thought the entire piece was beautiful, there was not enough of a border around all four sides to include the whole design in a single quilt. So she cut it up and let it be little windows in this one. The other fabrics, the reds, corals, and pinks, were chosen as value-based designs from her stash separated into lights and darks.
