The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Next Dimension Still Life" by Jamie Kalvestran
Do a puzzle of Jamie Kalvestran's quilt, Next Dimension Still Life.
Jamie says that Next Dimension Still Life looks like it doesn't belong amongst her work, but she feels it does. It came about because people started to ask her about teaching the methods she implemented in the quilt. She originally felt that she wasn't a teacher, and wasn't sure how she would go about teaching these techniques. So Jamie broke the concepts down step by step, and created a beginner's class out of Next Dimension Still Life that would teach improvisational work that would be different from other kinds of improv work that her students might be familiar with from other classes they've taken.
