The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Let's Polka" by Candace Hassen
Do a puzzle of Candace Hassen's quilt, Let's Polka.
Candace use to go to a health club all the time for yoga class, and at the club she kept seeing this wall hanging over and over again that had very simple geometric shapes, a lot of dots, and a lot of lines. From this wall hanging, an idea grew for Candace, realizing she could take those designs and make something from them. And thus, Let's Polka was born. The quilt is quilted by Regina Carter, and it's one of Candace's favorite patterns to teach because it's a great sample quilt for beginners and fun for experienced quilters who take the simple blocks and run wild with ideas.
