The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Desert's Glory" by Lois Podolny
Do a puzzle of Lois Podolny's quilt, Desert's Glory.
In Arizona there is a cactus called the night-blooming cereus, and when Lois moved there and saw the flower from the cactus for the very first time she went for three days to take pictures of it. The result of that photo-taking excursion was Desert's Glory. This was a game-changing quilt for her as she started quilting images into the background with this quilt. Lois feels that making Desert's Glory turned her into a real art quilter. It won Best Machine Workmanship at AQS Lancaster 2013.
