The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Crystal Mer" by Sheila Frampton Cooper
Do a puzzle of Sheila Frampton Cooper's quilt, Crystal Mer.
Crystal Mer was inspired by the view from Sheila's studio in France where she spent most of her time while living there. Her studio faced the largest bay in the Mediterranean, and she would just look out the window and ponder what was going on under there. In addition to the bay's inspiration, Sheila also wanted to make a small-scale piece that focused on micro-piecing. Having not been able to micro-piece for a long time, something Sheila loves to do, she was happy when the opportunity arose to do it with this quilt.
