The Quilt Show Puzzle: "Bright Lights, Big City" by Victoria Findlay Wolfe
Do a puzzle of Victoria Findlay Wolfe's quilt, Bright Lights, Big City.
When exploring double wedding ring quilts, Victoria wanted to expand the space of a traditional double wedding ring quilt to try something different. The result was Bright Lights, Big City, which talks about the New York City neighborhood where she lives and incorporates elements of the New York Beauty into the double wedding ring, hence the something different. Victoria is always looking at the shapes of a double wedding and seeing what she can do with it, starting with the traditional, making it big, then making it small, and so on. The quilt ended up being quite large, Victoria calls it her "Big Mama", and it and its pattern are featured in her book, Double Wedding Rings, Traditions Made Modern.
