Featured Quilt - BEST USE OF COLOR

You would not be remiss in thinking that this quilt by Kathy Dunkle depicted a firefly based on its name and bright orange colors. However, it actually features a dragonfly and is called Fiery. Winning Best Use of Color - Wall Quilt at the 2021 Virtual Spring Quilt Festival, Kathy says, "This dragonfly was created using Ann Shaw's (Show 2213) freezer paper method and her pattern, Dragonfly. This piece was created for my husband who is a fan of dragonflies. He picked out the fabric for the dragonfly and we chose the background pieces together."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: WEAVING DESIGNS &...

"Voyager" by Gale Carson

For the center of each block in Voyager, Gale used fabric from an exquisite hill tribe weaving community. The fabric is a weaving of silk, rayon, and cotton that was brought over from Sweden. It was worked on there with a designer to bring the colors and wonderful weaving designs to a wider audience.

See more of Gale's quilts in How to Work with One-Of-A-Kind Fabrics Including Thai Silk with Gale Carson.

Reach New Quilting Heights

Sometimes we take small steps, and sometimes we take big steps. Other times we make 20" x 20" size quilts, and then the next project is 80" x 80". What we're saying is, at whatever level you want to achieve The Quilt Show is there to help you reach it.

From top-notch teachers to stellar projects, we have the tools to get you where you want to go. Let us be your quilting ladder (or platform lift if you're really ambitious)!
