Featured Quilt - Our Very First Zoom Quilt
When Capt'n John demanded that quilters "need to see the stitches", the Zoom quilts were created. This quilt by Judy Mathieson, Dog Flowers, was the perfect first Zoom quilt. It is based on Hall of Fame quilter Florence Peto's famous quilt, Calico Garden. BUT there is a surprise in the fussy cutting...
The Master of Ceremonies has been announced for Quilters Take a Moment 2021. It is someone near and dear to The Quilt Show's heart, and a great quilter to boot. Quilters Take a Moment is just TWO WEEKS away, and we can't wait for it to get started! Can you guess who the Emcee is going to be?
This lesson from Dee Christopher is so packed with good information, we wanted to make sure everyone watches it. She not only talks about how to do appliqué, she talks about using buttons, beads, bias tape and more.
So, even if you aren't making the quilt, you'll want to take the time to watch Lesson #10. (You'll need to scroll to the bottom of the lessons.)
Alex LIVE is Off Today, But A New Class Is On Its Way
Off For Labor Day, Back For Wednesday and Friday
Alex is taking Labor Day off to finish recharging her batteries after wrapping up taping. But don't worry, Alex will be back with a one-two punch of LIVE goodness at the end of week. On Wednesday she'll be giving an introduction to her Paper Piecing Sampler Class and on Friday she will talk about the recent TQS Tapings. In the meantime, explore the new Paper Piecing Sampler classroom.
Alex will be LIVEWEDNESDAY, September 8, 2021 @ 10am PST, 1pm EST, and 6pm London time. All classes are recorded so they can be viewed later.
Have you ever pricked yourself with a pin and gotten blood on your project? Us too. Amodex Ink & Stain Remover will take care of that for you, along with ink, food stains, color run, and lots more!
Want to learn more about getting rid of stains in fabric? The Girl Scouts of America provided us with wonderful information to help us get rid of most any stain. Check it out below.
Lisa's quilt, Gaudi Star, was inspired by the mosaics of Anton Gaudi in Park Guell in Barcelona. The screen printed design on all the fabric was based on the paving stones also designed by Gaudi. The star motif was then quilted onto the piece and then overpainted with transparent fabric paints to allow the tile designs to show through.
