Featured Quilt - Caution, Quilters At Play
A quilter's playground is when they have all the fabric they want and they can just go to town, dreaming up the impossible for the world to see. But what happens when a quilter visits an actual playground? Well, inspiration strikes! At least it did for Geri Patterson-Kutras, whose quilt, The Playground, was featured in the New Quilts of Northern Competition at PIQF 2019. Geri says, "The overlapping contours of the apparatus created new landscapes of angles and shadows, making my imagination race." So whether you are in a metaphorical, or literal, playground let your creativity soar because the possibilities are endless!
Our members are the best. When they have a bold idea they go out and do it and get noticed in big ways. That's what happened when Carole Berry decided to make the 2021 Block Of the Month, Color My World, in wool. She started making the quilt and posted her progress to Instagram, where it was noticed by Wendy Williams!

The corner lemoyne stars are appliqued onto the setting squares and surrounded with feathered wreaths and crosshatching to complete the traditional look."
