Featured Quilt - Excellence in Machine Quilting at 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts

Janneke de Vries-Bodzinga is a multi-award-winning quilt artist and designer from the Netherlands who has achieved international recognition for her innovative and complex art designs. All her quilts are made of fabric and nothing is painted. The quilt showcased today, Typhoon, won the Excellence in Machine Quilting award at the 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts.

The Quilt Show Puzzle: An Amazing Jelly Roll Quilt
"A Maze Zing" by Candace Hassen

A Maze Zing was inspired by a jelly roll race that Candace partook in at a retreat. Since it seems a jelly roll lasts forever, Candace thought it would look better and more interesting if her design was split up into a wide strip and a narrow strip that alternated with each other. Then to improve on her idea, Candace decided to have the strips radiate out from the center creating this maze-looking design. The quilt was quilted by Regina Carter.
