Featured Quilt - First Prize Traditional Quilts - 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts

Flower Festival by Sachiko Chiba won First Prize - Traditional Quilts at the 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts. Not wanting to settle for one Traditional award, the quilt also took home Best Traditional Design at the 2019 AQS QuiltWeek show in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At the Birmingham show, the judges had this to say about Sachiko's work, "Meticulously sewn with great attention to detail. The fabric choices bring out the movement of the petals and the quilting enhances the overall design."

Eleanor, Gee, We Think You're Swell

Eleanor Burns is known as The Queen of Quilting, but here at The Quilt Show she's just known as 2011 Quilt Legend Eleanor Burns. So for this week's Quilters' Save Our Stories (QSOS) program from the Quilt Alliance, we are shining the spotlight on Eleanor and her storied career as she talks about her quilts, her company, and so much more!

The Quilt Show Puzzle: A Wonderful Compliment Indeed
"We Complement Each Other" by Priscilla Bianchi

We Complement Each Other is from Series II of Priscilla's Guatemala Arte Quilts. She says, "I thought I'd own the lottery when I found these scraps of genuine Mayan "huipiles" (women's blouses). Colors and textiles complement each other. All my Creations start out as "dancing visions, designs and colors" in my mind. Thus, this quilt is the labor of busy hands, loving heart and innovative mind. It speaks of me and the pleasure I found in its making."
