Featured Quilt - Step Into The Spotlight (Of Color!)
Into the Light by Karen Eckmeier (Show 1109) was featured in the Pieced Small category at Houston 2018. Karen says of her great use of color throughout her work, "I love to play with gradations of value and decided to play with this idea in a giant log-like layout with white to black, warm colors, and cool colors. The light in the center pulls the viewer in to read important words, which represent the joy of being in the present moment."
Katie Kortman and her family are stationed in Japan with the US Navy. Her young son has been attending early preschool (Yochien) and she noticed that the other children were taking their lunches in bento lunch sacks. She wanted her son to have one has well and set about learning to make one, which she did. Learn how to make one for yourself from this tutorial at WeAllSew.
A Little Bit of Sharing From the Quilting Community

Alex will be LIVETODAY, September 22, 2021 @ 10am PST, 1pm EST, and 6pm London time. All classes are recorded so they can be viewed later.
"Wow! I am blown away by Natalya's creativity and talent. I didn't think I would be interested in 'plastic quilts' but they were fabulous!! The materials and techniques are amazing. I loved all of her small samples - maybe someday I'll give one a try--thank you!" - Valerie Cape
