Featured Quilt - Multiple Award-Winning Wedding Ring

Ben Darby's quilt, Corona Wedding Dish, has just won the BERNINA Best Sewing Machine Workmanship award at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza. This is a multiple award-winning quilt having also won Best Machine Quilting (Frameless) [Sponsored by @equilter] at QuiltCon 2021.

Ben says, “This vibrant modern quilt is a unique take on a double wedding ring and pickle dish quilts and it introduces improvisational paper piecing to create the triangles in the overlapping sections of the circles." And where did the name come from? "The melon shapes are paper pieced with triangles improvisationally drawn separately in each melon. The spikey secondary shapes were serendipitous, and inspired the name."
