Featured Quilt - First Prize Art Quilts - 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts

Milioner by Sylwia Ignatowska (sylaquiltartist) won First Prize - Art Quilts at the 2022 Birmingham Festival of Quilts. Sylwia says her beautiful quilt's inspiration was the fact, "I have never sewed a tondo before. I wanted to create such a tondo by just quilting it."

What is a tondo you say? A tondo is "a circular painting, relief carving, plaque, or mural design" The judges at the Festival of Quilts definitely picked up on this design, as they had this to say about the quilt, "The very very successful combination of individually quilted kaleidoscope hexagons and beautifully embellished central panel has resulted in a stunning harmonious piece."

Transform Your Quilting This Week with Jan Krentz and Libby Lehman

Week 7 ofTransform Your Quilting continues with a great design technique from Jan Krentz and a stitching tip from Libby Lehman.
Not sure if you like the way you've set up the fabrics in your block? Jan Krentz in Show 506 has a method for Auditioning Your Fabric (technique) - Click on Chapter 1. You'll be looking in the mirror after you see Jan's technique.

Then, Libby Lehman shows you some new designs using The Blanket | Buttonhole Stitch (tip). This is one of Ricky's very favorite stitches.
