A Happy Halloween Quilt, What Showed Up at the Warehouse?, Transform Your Quilting 2 Starts Today, Robin Long is a Roaring Success, Basket Rendezvous - Lesson 06, Textile Talk - Crafting The Vote, Spooky Halloween Fabric Savings, A Dragon Puzzle

Featured Quilt - Happy Halloween!

It's the spookiest day of the year, so we're bringing you a spooky quilt. It's not too scary though, as it's meant to celebrate Halloween and the joy it can bring. Lydia's Halloween by Brenda L. Ziegler was featured at the 2022 Pacific International Quilt Festival.

On bringing her quilt to life, Brenda had this to say.
"In order to make my first Halloween quilt, I chose a panel planning to cut out the silhouetted witch. I liked the full panel so much that my design grew out of it. I was inspired to offset the various Halloween images whimsically bordering the panel by a Connie Bowles quilt pattern."

The Quilt Show Puzzle: Here There Be Dragons
"Oscar" by Cathy Wiggins

Oscar is the quilt that started Cathy Wiggins down her "leather" path. She wanted the quilt to look like a leather-bound book but didn't know how to accomplish that with regular cotton fabrics. So her friend told her to just use actual upholstery leather, and that's what she did. From there, a journey of making leather quilts was kicked off and she didn't turn back. Oscar the dragon himself is painted on the quilt, but the binding of the book is leather.

See more of Cathy's quilts in How to Make a Leather Quilt with Cathy Wiggins | Quilt Studio Tour Hollis Chatelain.
