Featured Quilt - First Place Traditional at 2022 Pacific International Quilt Festival

Autumn Swag by Linda Roy won First Place - Traditional at 2022 Pacific International Quilt Festival. We certainly feel, and we think Linda would too, that this is the perfect quilt for this time of year. In fact, the Autumnal season was partially her inspiration for this quilt. She says, "Inspired by autumn foilage and a new roundabout in Knoxville TN." This Machine Pieced, Hand Appliquéd, and Hand Quilted gets all the textures of the falling leaves just right and makes you feel like you're taking a breezy stroll through the park.
On The Set with Robin Long and Pam Mahshie

Robin Long is up next as this week's guest of honor, along with returning serger expert Pam Mahshie. Get a look at what was going on on set during their stay, and a peek at the mariner's compass and serger fun to come!

Quilt Stories from the Museum of Texas Tech University
Military Themed Mountain Mist Batting Wrapper Patterns

During WWII, Mountain Mist batting wrappers included two different patterns that were designed for branches of the service. Examples of both quilts were collected by Texas quilt historian, Marcia R. Kaylakie, donated to the Museum of Texas Tech University and are included in the exhibit Mountain Mist Quilts: Clever Marketing to Beautiful Treasures currently on exhibit through January 15, 2023.
In The Store - Halloween Fabrics
Spooky Fabric For The Spooky Season

We've got two sets of frightful fabric that will simply delight you this Halloween season. First up is the Late October Fat Quarter Bundle by Sweetwater for Moda (above left). The second is the Regions Beyond Cobwebs by Tim Holtz (above right). This 45 Inch wide by-the-yard fabric would make the perfect backing for a Halloween quilt!

We just love these "low-key" Halloween fabrics. The colors say "Halloween" but most of them could just as easily be mixed into an any time quilt too.
The Quilt Show Puzzle: Dressed For A Rose-Colored View
"She gazed at the carousel through rose-colored glasses" by Marty Ornish

You may have seen on Monday that Marty Ornish's dress, She gazed at the carousel through rose-colored glasses, won Best of Show in the Wearable Art Competition at the 2022 Pacific International Quilt Festival. Well, guess what? Now you can do a puzzle of the dress. If you missed it before, here's a little background on the outfit. Marty says that the gown and matching backdrop were constructed from a deconstructed 1940s Suffolk puff quilt made by Joan Crone, who gave her the quilt to convert into a dress because she was a fan of Marty's work.
