Featured Quilt - Best Wall Quilt at PIQF 2021

In our recent show with Sandra Mollon (Show 2810), she featured a beautiful quilt she was working on that featured polar bears. Since that show aired, she has finished it, now called In Perfect Harmony, and it has won Best Wall Quilt at PIQF 30. Sandra had this to say about making the leap to such a different type of quilting, and how that style has changed the way she works. "As a traditional hand appliqué quilter for more than two decades, it was a leap for me to try a different, realistic raw edge style. That style, with lots of machine work and some mixed media has become my personal new norm, and it has been a lot of fun."

We are flying off today to film more shows with great artists. Artists like Meri who is our current show. We have opened it up this week during our filming so those who are not yet Star Members can see the quality of the artists and the shows. ENJOY! And become a member. Dawn Prayers on the Ganges is made from a collection of images, or a montage of them, that Meri had to create a portrait of the Ganges in her mind. Meri was fascinated by the beautiful colors and the people she had seen in India, and the border is made with silks from there as well. Plus, if you look closely, Gandhi appears three times throughout the quilt. Can you spot him?
